Building your Law of Attraction Skills

Before “The Secret” was told, the Law of Attraction had a magical quality to me. I would always experience a special excitement as I passed this little known inspirational wisdom on to a friend. Now with the ubiquitous book/DVD, it is difficult to find someone who hasn’t heard of it.

What I find troubling, is the number of people who’ve already thrown the DVD in the drawer alongside their “Abs of Steel” VHS tape. “Tried it, doesn’t work” is the common cry.

I really shouldn’t be surprised. The law of attraction is often portrayed as SO EASY for everyone, when in reality this is rarely the case. The basic concept is easy. The degree of difficulty one may find when attracting abundance is another matter.

It brings to mind the game of chess. Easy to learn but hard to master. There are numerous “subtleties” to it that are only exposed with practice. You aren’t going to beat a chess champion after just learning the rules. It’s twice as unlikely you won’t manifest your wildest dreams after merely being introduced to the art of manifestation.

There is a section in The Secret book where they discuss trying to attract a cup of coffee as a starting point. I think this is great advice. Start small and develop your powers. This will not only build confidence, but help to dispel any doubts that the law of attraction doesn’t work. Conflicting doubts would be a poison to the process as I’ve recently explained.

How about an example? Imagine a man with incredible powers who can manifest desires right from the start. By choosing his biggest dream to base his “works/doesn’t work” decision on, he’s likely to end up disappointed. The Universe will have to move in many ways to get him into that multi-million dollar mansion he’s visualizing. This will require more patience than the average beginner is willing to give without unwavering faith in an activity.

So, visualize finding that penny. Manifest that cup of coffee. Convince yourself that this can work. Then move on to something larger. Pull yourself up the ladder one rung at a time. In the end, a million dollar home should be as easy to create as that penny if you can become a vibrational match to it. Perhaps you need to experience what it feels like when it is happening. To constantly practice a state of total trust that it is on its way to you.

Two Points to ponder:

Ask the great athlete, concert pianist or successful actor if they arrived at the place where they need no further practice. They will tell you that the higher you climb in proficiency…the greater the need for practice.

Practice Makes Perfect Thoughts.
