Acres of Diamonds
There was a time many years ago, long before I became familiar with the Law of Attraction, when I wanted my career to be in the Music Industry. Even with moderate success as a musician I eventually grew weary of the lifestyle. I started looking to change my profession but was having trouble finding a new path. One day, a story entitled, “Acres of Diamonds” appeared before me…
If you are unfamiliar with Acres of Diamonds, I suggest you read it here first. It is a quick read and very enjoyable. In short, it’s the (apparently true) story of a wealthy farmer who sells his property to go prospecting for diamonds and greater riches. After a long search ending in failure, he throws himself into the waters off the Spanish coast and drowns. What he will never know is that the farm he once owned becomes one of the richest diamond mines in history. He didn’t recognize the riches which had been at his feet each day.
I will never stop being amazed how stories like this arrive into one’s life at just the right time!

Law of Attraction, Acres of Diamonds and Keeping Your Eyes Open
First of all, it’s important to always be on the lookout for life’s “clues”. I’m just thankful I was able to see this story “as a sign” when it was presented to me. The Universe often sends you little tidbits of information and they’re easy to miss.
Secondly, I’m also thankful I saw the potential for acres of diamonds right where I stood…
I had lived the stereotypical starving artist life up to this point. My meager income came from low paying jobs in the Information Technology field. I had a knack for this type of work but never really gave it much thought as a career. Looking back, it’s probably because most of my co-workers had computer science degrees or an equally intimidating amount of experience. On the surface, imagining myself reaching a similar position seemed far out of reach. Yet I couldn’t deny the feeling that “something out there” was prompting me to look deeper into this possibility and decided to give it a chance.
An Attitude of Gratitude
I am so grateful for all the wonderful individuals who magically came into my life to assist me. People who offered to train me in their spare time and loan me equipment and books. Managers who would actually put their own reputations on the line to give me opportunities to advance.
Once you are in vibrational harmony with your desires people just start appearing to guide you along.
Like I once imagined, I have the six-figure income and am blessed to be able to work from home most days. I can now offer my time and knowledge to the young up-and-comers. Life really feels great. And don’t think for one minute that I haven’t realigned myself with a few new goals and desires…
Point to Ponder:
If we had only had the wisdom and patience to intelligently and effectively explore the work in which we’re now engaged, to explore ourselves, we would most likely find the riches we seek, whether they be financial or intangible or both.

As a final note, I guess one could say “why didn’t you find your acres of diamonds in music then?”. That stretch of my life was a time that will always be treasured. However, I just reached a point where the passion was gone. For the Law of Attraction to work there has to be strong feelings behind it.
And being aware of this Law now, I believe that if the fires had kept burning for music, eventually another path would have appeared with another set of amazing people to help me along…
